Coca Cola
If you know me at all you know I love Coke. I drink at least two a day but most the times it is three. My first one is usually around 9:00 am, then if I am done with the morning one I have one with lunch. Most days I can then wait till dinner to have my last one but on bad days I have to get one around 3:00 pm. I do try to keep the habit around 4. Well the last couple of days I have decided I drink too many cokes and am going to try to cut back. Today was my first day. My first coke of the day was opened at 1:41 pm. That is really good for me. Of course the minute I opened the can and drank a gulp I thought, there are so many other things I could be addicted to. Drugs, cigarettes, etc. All I am addicted to is a drink. My mom was like me, I am don't think she drank as many as I do but she had a coke first thing in the morning. Well she got really lucky and got an awful stomach virus and didn't drink cokes for like two weeks. Well by the time she got over the virus, she decided that she went this long, she might as well just quit all together. Well, I need a bad stomach virus, because I think that is the only way I could truly quit. So day one: first coke was at 1:41pm. Tomorrow I am going to try to go all the way till dinner. I want to be healthy and drink more water so after this coke is done, I am going to go drink a glass of water. If you are reading this and are a praying person, pray that Kara has the willpower to quit drinking cokes. Now I am off to finish my wonderful, thirst quinching, burns while drinking coke. I will miss you my friend.

Sick Cat
My cats is very sick. Henry is about 10 years old and has always been a big cat. He was 22 pounds in his prime. Charles and I noticed the other day that he looked like he had dropped some weight. Well he has, he is now down to 16 pounds. That is significant weight loss in a cat. The vet looked and said he had an infection in his mouth. His teeth are rotting out of his head and causing an infection in his mouth. So I asked how much is it going to cost to pull the bad teeth and get rid of the infection. She told me the high price would be around $1000. Holy crap, I don't have an extra $1000. So then she said that we would just have to put 30% down. That is still $300 which I don't just have an extra $300 laying around. I have a house payment, a car payment, a daycare payment and a daughter and husband who insist on eating. I tried to get them to quit for a little bit but they won't. They are so selfish. So now I have to come up with $300 so that my cat doesn't die. I can't get him to keep any food down. He just keeps throwing all his food up. I just want to cry. I love my cat but I have to buy groceries and pay bills. Of course the vet looks at you like lets just set up the appointment and I am like if I had an extra $300 I would cut my throat and die rich. The only thing that would make this worse if it had happened around Christmas. At least there is that. I am going to have to go get a second job to pay for my cat. OK I got that off my chest. Please pray that God will give me an epiphany.

Lasik
So I got Lasik surgery on Saturday, February 21st. I was pretty nervous because come on they are doing surgery on your eyes. I know that they have perfected it and there is a small chance that something can go bad but what if you were the small chance. Plus my left eye was so blind that it took longer to run the laser on it. Also Charles was not my idea of comfort. He sat in the room with me while I was waiting joking about that when he runs lasers they can cut through metal. But it was okay because they gave me Valium before the surgery to calm me down. The surgery itself did not take long. Before the surgery they put I think 5 different eye drops in your eyes. They stung and it was not very comfortable. They surgery was the easiest part. After the surgery, I was so loopy from the Valium. The doctor came in to talk to me but all I heard was blah, blah, blah. Good thing Charles was there, he did do a good job of listening to all the instructions. We got in the car and all I wanted was a hamburger. For those that don't know me, I am not a huge fan of hamburgers, but I wanted one so bad. So Charles drove to Whataburger and got me a hamburger and onion rings. When we got home, I ate that whole hamburger which is very weird because I can never eat a whole one. As soon as I got done, I went to bed and slept for I am not too sure. Now with the Lasik that doctors do now, you can see nearly as soon as they are done. I didn't get to do that one. I had to have the other Lasik that takes longer to recover from. I still can't see perfectly yet but the doctor says that it is normal and it gets better and better. Problem was I had to lay in bed for 3 days with nothing to do. I couldn't watch TV or read a book because it hurt my eyes and you can only sleep so much. So Charles said to download a book from iTunes. I ended up downloading 2 but it was worth the money because I could keep my eyes closed but not be bored to tears. Cassie didn't handle it all well. Her whole schedule was thrown off and she didn't get to have as much mommy time. She is very clingy right now since I have been up. I can actually drive now which is good because it was hard catching a ride to work and back home.
It is weird not wearing contacts or glasses. I still wake up every morning looking for my glasses and when I go to bed I try to take my contacts out. As soon as I can see much better it will be so worth it. The only thing I have trouble seeing right now is distance. Which I know my eyes are getting better because I can read a book again without my eyes hurting. It was expensive but Charles even said that it was worth it because my contacts and glasses are so expensive so it will pay for itself in a couple of years. All in all I know I will forget the all the bad and remember the good because I will be able to see the good everyday.

Funny in a sad way
OK so I know I need to post more pictures of Cassie, I just haven't had a chance to take any.
Now on to my post. Sunday night Cassie started throwing up. No idea why, she never acted like she felt bad, it just happened. Charles was so good, every time she would throw up, he would take her to the bathroom, get her cleaned up while I cleaned up wherever she had just been. We were all in the bathroom after she got done emptying her stomach again, when she looked at us with the sad expression and said, "I'm alright guys." She just kept saying that over and over. It was so funny the way she was saying it but sad because she was clearly not alright.
I am happy to say, she is good now. Charles stayed up with her all night and then stayed home with her the next day because I could not take off work. He is a wonderful father even if he doesn't feel like it sometime.
On another note, pray for me Saturday as I am getting Lasik surgery. I am having the surgery that takes a couple of days recovery so I am not looking forward to that with having a 2 year old. Will let blog after the surgery to let everyone know how it went.

I would like to thank Amanda for getting me hooked onto Facebook. Actually maybe it should be, "Amanda, thanks alot for getting me hooked on Facebook." That was sarcastic in case you couldn't tell. I really like it way better than MySpace. MySpace takes too much work. On Facebook you don't have to design a page and add all this other stuff. Facebook is so much more simple. I have found so many people I went to high school with on there. So if you haven't done it, get on Facebook and start finding your friends.
So Amanda added new pictures of her beautiful daughter Maddie, so I guess I better add new pictures of Cassie. I haven't taken alot since Christmas but I will get some up of her on her little 4 wheeler. She has been sick and is taking breathing treatments so I will take a picture of her doing that because she is so good about doing them. Hopefully I will do that tomorrow.

President Bush in Midland
I don't care if you like President Bush or hate him, but when a President of the United States of America comes to your town, you go see him. I happen to like Bush. I don't care if you don't like him, this is not a forum to discuss how much you hate Bush. So my mom and I went to join the 30,000 people to welcome Bush home. Let me tell you it was packed. Here are some pictures of the crowd.

Does that look like 30,000 people?
Here is a picture of mom and I while we wait.
Here is the plane carrying President Bush and Mrs. Bush.
Good zoom on the camera because he was on top of a building.
Finally we got to see President Bush and Laura Bush.
The whole experience was a once in a lifetime thing. It was worth standing up for 2 1/2 hours. My back was killing me when we got back to the car but it was fun. I wish Cassie had been old enough to understand what was going on but it would not have been fun to take her and deal with. Oh well at least I will have the pictures.
